How to create and effectively use the Sub-Status feature in the ATS/Job Pipeline

Published:

The name of a status or pipeline in the ATS pipeline can be customized, but the total number of statuses remains fixed. Alternatively, the Sub-status feature can be utilized to categorize all candidates within each job in the ATS Pipeline.

How do I add a sub status for a pipeline stage?

  1. Navigate to the "Recruiting" module and select "Job Pipeline"

  2. Click on the pipeline settings icon as depicted here

  3. In the "Edit pipeline columns and sub stages" side bar that opens up, click on "+ Add sub status"

  4. In the card that pops up, you can specify the Name, Pipeline, Color, Font Color, toggle default sub state and you can "Save" the new sub-state
Toggle on the "Default state", if you want to make the sub-status as a default in the pipeline/Status.

How do I effectively use Sub-Status within my Job Pipeline?

Sub-status can be used in various scenarios, instead of creating a new pipeline/status. One can add sub-status as steps in the ATS Pipeline. We have explained it with two examples below:

Example 1

We have taken an example for the "Sourced" Pipeline, as can be seen in the image below:

Pending - if there is no action taken, this can be the default stage.
No Response to Initial Calls - if there is no response from the candidate.
Contacted - if the candidate has been contacted.
Pending Feedback - if the feedback on the candidate is pending.
Positive - if the candidate fulfills the initial requirement for the next step/round.
Similarly, the reject reasons can be added.

Example 2

We have taken an example for the "Interview" Pipeline, as can be seen in the image below. Here several rounds for an interview can be added as sub-status like First Round, Technical Round, Panel Review, etc. Similarly the reject reasons.
